Later that day, Zeraea, Daddy, grandma and I went to the opening of the new Wal-Mart in Tampa. It's like 10minutes away from our house which is AWESOME because before if we ever wanted to go to Wal-Mart, we had to drive like 30minutes just to get there, than 30 minutes back. Talk about a long time! She had fun looking around at all the people and things as we walked by, liked playing with Mommy down the aisles too.
When we got home from Wal-Mart she had her first Popsicle! She made a MESS! It was really cute though watching her play around in the juice, she smeared it all over the place, even on the ground. Our puppy, Missy, cleaned up some of the mess too. Then it came to clean up time , had to get her less sticky!
After getting dressed, Kevin gave her a pot lid and she loved it. It made a lot of noise. She was glising it across our tile floor :) and SHE SAT UP ALL BY HERSELF FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! WOOOOO!! I ALMOST missed it, I was getting her cereal ready and just as I walked into our living room, she was sitting up and she got that way all by herself this time!!! : D I am SOOO proud of my baby girl!! :) ( I didn't have time to catch a picture of it though :( (next time!) She went to bed on time tonight too! (8pm)
I wanted to make a couple suggestions but feel free to tell me to stick it...
ReplyDeleteWe had a lot of problems with Lauren's bowel movements and found that if we put her on the potty (at 9 months when she finally started solids) it was easier. Mostly because she wasn't trying to get it past her butt cheeks. Before we started, we could see her start to strain. She would then give up. It was four days before she had a bowel movement and it was the day we started putting her on the potty. Since we could "see it coming" it was really easy.
Lauren is now dairy free and is on a small dose of a mild laxative (Lax-a-Day) that we mix with her drink. She has no problems taking it at all. Might be worth asking her doctor if there are other options than Milk of Magnesia - maybe something you can mix into her cereal. The mild laxative keeps Lauren's intestines moving to solve her gas build up issues but also moves things through enough that they don't have time to harden up.
PS: we're also Prevacid (Nexium actually or esomapremazole) and have been for about a year. Our GI says it'll be another year or so but Lauren's GERD is a biproduct of her genetic condition so may be a bit different in terms of 'growing out of it'...
Your daughter is beautiful and you're doing an amazing job!
Thank you so much! I would have never thought to do that, it sounds like her also. She works really hard and seems to give up after a poop nuggit. Milk of Magnesia is so hard to get her to take, she HATES it and it chalks up in her mouth. Ew, I don't blame her lol. Thanks a lot!
